Mission Work

Our sermon this week was about becoming fired up about mission work, and it really spoke to me - so I'm going to give you 7 things that I took away from the message. I wanted to write this post, but then in my ProBlogger challenge - we are supposed to write a list post... so I've blended the two ideas into one. (Cause I'm smart like that!)

  1. Mission work is about people.
It is all about bringing people to Christ through action - your action.

  2. Mission work is everywhere.
Not just in other nations - but right down the street from your house or church... everyone everywhere needs to know the love of Jesus.

  3. Mission work is about lives being changed.
Not always in the ways you'd expect - sometimes your life will be changed more than those you are helping.

  4. Mission work is not measured by money spent.
Knowing a church believes in missions can be measured by the number of people they send to do the work.

  5. Missionaries are regular people.
They are not a special class of people - they are just regular people going out and sharing the Word with others.

  6. Mission work is about sharing what God has done in your life.
If it has been 10 years since God has done something amazing in your life - it is time to start praying for a new miracle to share with the world.

  7. Mission work is about making disciples.
It is not about going somewhere - it is about sharing the love of Christ as you go about your regular daily life.

You can support and get involved in missions at any time - just decide what you want to do, how you want to help, and get to it. It's all about the service - if it's in your church or even in a foreign nation - do your best to share God's love with others.... start today!
